What are obfuscated Blu-Ray Discs?
They are a form of copyright protection, what have begun to appear in the last year or so, notably by LionsGate Entertainment. They make the correct playlist hard to find by including multiple playlists with similar or exact runtimes or chapters. Some can have over 100!
How is this done?
By mixing and matching multiple .m2ts files to form another unique playlist. The credits may be in the middle, scenes may be left out, piracy messages included, blank screens and more.
Isn't my ripping software able to tell me the correct playlist?
Maybe. Programs such as AnyDVD HD have multiple updates so they're able to read these discs. However, they always don't have the update, so users must send them a log file so they can reverse engineer it for a future update. Also, they can be wrong sometimes. If you're encoding a movie or making a remux, its best to manually check out the playlist to be certain.
Where to from here?

Getting the Playlists & BD Info

Install all the required materials and rip your BD using AnyDVD HD. It usually takes about 10-15 minutes on average. Make sure you EXIT out completely of AnyDVD HD, and kill it from the tray. Run your Blu-ray disc, not the ripped version, in Power DVD and make note of the run time, number of chapters, audio, and subtitles.
Next, we want to see the number of playlists in both eac3to and BDInfo. Open up a CLI prompt and make your way to the folder that the stores the BD rip. Protip: If you press shift and right click in that folder, you'll get an option to open up a window right there. Now, use the syntax "Path\to\eac3to\here.exe" My_Movie_Folder and click enter. Remember to leave in the quotes! You'll get something like this.

To get the BDInfo, all we do is load the folder.

Using Process Monitor

Once process monitor is installed, go to Filter-->Filter... and proceed to remove all the filters there. Then, add the next 3 filters so that your filter screen looks like this.

Click Ok and return to Power DVD. Start the Blu-ray disc from your drive and begin to watch Process Monitor. Since Power DVD is authorized to play real, untouched Blu-rays, you can be assured the correct playlist here. Like most discs, it'll go a few previews and warnings before getting to the main screen. You can expect to see at least a few different MPLS files to show up.

After you arrive at the main menu, play the main feature and keep your eye on Process Monitor for a few minutes. The playlist should remain the same the entire time. This is the one you want to demux!
